The oldest tower in the ring wall dating back to the 12th century. Once a defense tower in a small castle overlooking the then harbor - now Almedalen, an arena for politicians, corporate events, a fair or congress. During the 18th century, gunpowder was stored in the tower, where crossbowmen stood and defended the city against the ships that threatened the harbor.
